Glastar Grinders

Glastar Grinder Accessories

If you are not sure which head fits your grinder check out the
Grinding Bit Reference Chart
Many of these bits will fit grinders made by Inland and Diamond Tech as well as Glastar.

PBS System allows Glastar heads to outlast the competition's heads by 3 to 1.

Glastar heads use the PBS® System which eliminates "peeling" of the diamonds from the brass spindle.  The high quality of the Glastar heads allow them to outlast the competition by 3 to 1.  If you are going to replace your Glastar or Inland grinder's grinding head go with one that outperforms and outlasts all the others.

All the Glastar grinding heads feature a full 5/8" band of diamonds which give you five working surfaces.  Glastar bits are available in standard grit, fine grit and coarse grit.

Standard Grinding Bits:

  • 1" Standard Grit (#0156) $47.98

  • 1" Fine Fine (#0157) $47.98

  • 1" Coarse Grit (#0185)  $53.88

  • 3/4" Standard Grit (#0151) $36.98

  • 3/4" Fine Grit (#0153) $36.98

  • 3/4" Coarse Grit (#01516) $43.88

  • 5/8" Standard Grit (#0176)  $23.44  [only fits Glastar G-5 Starlet grinder]

  • 5/8" Fine Grit (#0171)  $23.44  [only fits Glastar G-5 Starlet grinder

For grinding tighter inside curves and occasionally drilling holes in glass use the Glastar 1/4" and 1/8" grinding heads.  Don't forget to get the Bit Adaptor (#0152) for all Inland Grinders and for Glastar Grinders that do NOT have a grinder shaft with internal threads (newer versions of all Glastar Grinders plus all All Star or Starlet Grinders have the threaded shaft).

  • 1/4" Standard Grit (#0177) $18.18

  • 1/4" Fine Grit (#0161) $18.68

  • 1/8" Standard Grit (#0155) $18.18

  • 1/8" Fine Grit (#0154) $18.68

  • 1/4" Bit Adapter (#0152) $8.94  Use Bit Adapter with the above 1/4" and 1/8" Glastar grinding heads.  The adapter slides over the shaft and the grinding heads screw into the adaptor.  You only have to buy the Adapter once. USE ONLY WITH GLASTAR BITS.
Not required if you have a Glastar Starlet, All Star or newer versions of SuperStar and DiamondStar grinders with the Quick Fit Bit System.
If your grinder shaft has internal threads to accept the 1/4" or 1/8" bits above, you do NOT need the adapter.

Ripple Head (at right in photo) -- Grinds the top and bottom edges of thick or irregular glass pieces (Spectrum Ripple, Kokomo Ripple, or any glass that's running thick) to fit inside lead or zinc came or to make glass easier to foil.

  • 3/4" Ripple Head -- Standard Grit (#0159) $47.98

Specialty Grinding Bits:

Lamp Head (atleft in photo)-- Chamfers the vertical edges of your panel lamps for a tighter and stronger fit.  Use the 9° angle for lamps with more than 10 panels and the 18° for lamps with less than 10 panels.

  • 3/4" Lamp Head -- Standard Grit (#01517) $47.98

Radius Edger (center in photo) -- Smoothes and rounds over the top and bottom of your cut edges.  A great help for mosaics.

  The PBS® System

The PBS® System used by Glastar is a far superior method of bonding the diamonds to the grinding heads.  This unique system literally fuses the diamond particles to the head rather than merely encapsulating the diamonds in an inferior electroplating process.

The result is the elimination of diamond "peel" from the head.  And since the diamonds are permanently bonded to the head with controlled spacing of the particles they are easier to cool and they have more exposed cutting edges on each particle.

Innovations like these have allowed Glastar heads to outperform and outlast the best from the competition.
