MIKA INTERNATIONAL produces two Studio Line quality soldering irons which are dependable and reasonably priced. Both are up to the task of heavy copper foil work, and both come with a 1/4” tapered chisel, iron clad tip with a 3/8” shank. UL Listed and a 1 year warranty. Inexpensive, but sturdy.

The knurled nut holds the tip in place, unscrews easily, and makes it less likely that your tip will seize in your iron. INLAND DELUXE 100 WATT IRON (#3909) is a better than average iron well suited for serious hobbyist. Recommended by many stained glass teachers as it is a well made, economical choice for students.  Supplied with a 5/16" tip.  1 year warranty from Inland.  $24.78

INLAND INSTA-HEAT CERAMIC ELEMENT IRON (#3908) is a highly efficient iron! The unique ceramic heating element draws 120 watts until it reaches 850°F, in about 45 seconds! Once it reaches that limit, it draws only enough current required to maintain that temperature. Will supply loads of heat when working with larger projects. It responds instantly to any temperature decrease. Comes with plated 1/4" tip standard. A fine detail 1/8" tip is available.
