Glass Samples are offered as a way for you to preview glass before you buy.  It is always hard to describe colors in a "listing" of glass.  Even the images we present on our web pages are limited in their ability to truly represent the glass.  It's really hard to show the luminosity of many types of glass by a small photo on the web.

All sample sets (except System 96, Wasser, Oceana and Youghiogheny) are made up right here at Sunshine Glassworks.  We take the time to cut samples that are as representative as possible of the various colors of glass we stock.

Why don't we stock the factory sample boxes?  The main reason is that the factories tend to include colors that are manufactured infrequently and we don't stock.  Why sell you a sample if we will have a hard time getting you the color?  It has been our experience that many times factories will include glass colors that they haven't made in years ... and probably won't make again for years.

DETAILS

All samples are 1˝ x 4" in size and are clearly labeled with the Sunshine Glassworks Ltd. catalog number to make ordering easy.

Samples are sold in sets as shown in the listings below.

INDIVIDUAL SAMPLES

If you only need a sample of one or two colors, and don't wish to order the entire set, we can ship you separate samples of just those colors.  Just ask for the catalog number of the glass you want and indicate that you need just a sample.  All individual (other than Architectural Glass, Youghiogheny, Oceana, Systems 96 and Wasser) samples are 99˘ each.

A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT FUSIBLE GLASS SAMPLES

Many people wish to use the samples from a fusible sample set to test compatibility between different types of glass.  We don't encourage this as:

• If you are testing compatibility within the same glass family (such as testing two different colors that are System 96 glass), you are duplicating the factory's efforts.  If the glass is marketed as a fusible product, you can rest assured that it will be compatible in almost every circumstance.  The testing you're doing has already been done for you.

• If you are testing two different MANUFACTURERS (ie. Bullseye COE 90 with Uroboros COE 90) you really need to test the ACTUAL SHEETS you intend to fuse.  Testing with samples (which may be from different batches) may not give you the accuracy you need.  Do your compatibility tests with corners taken from the sheets you intend to use for your finished product.
