Sun Sculptures Pre-slumped Kits

STAINLESS STEEL MOLDS

These are heat treated stainless steel molds for slumping and draping uses.  Prepare molds by heating in the kiln and spraying kiln wash on the warm surface using an air brush for even application.  We now stock Floral Formers and Rounds.

FLORAL FORMERS are used for creating free-form vases.  Take a 10 or 12" square of glass (any glass, but try something with wild streaks) and slump over the former.  With nearly no effort you've got a one of a kind piece.  Two sizes available: 

• TALL FLORAL FORMER  (#73730) is 7" tall, 3-1/2" in diameter.  This is the most popular size (as illustrated).  $18.99

• SHORT FLORAL FORMER  (#73731) is 4 3/4" tall and 3¼" diameter at the base.   $16.29

ROUND MOLDS are used for plates and bowls.  Two shapes, two sizes for each.  Choose from:

MAKE YOUR OWN MOLDS
If you don't see the mold you want, or if you need to duplicate a bending pattern, we have the mold making materials you need.  These materials are great for duplicating bent panels.  Use Moist Pack to make bending molds from salad bowls or other objects you would like to duplicate for yourself.  These products DO NOT contain asbestos.

• HOT LINE MOIST PACK (#73701) is cut to size and formed over the object to be duplicated.  It is then heated to set (rigidize) and then you can use it to slump or drape glass over it.  With care, you can make several projects from the same mold. Sheets are 20x24" and are 1/4" thick.
• FIBER BLANKET & FIBER MOLD HARDENER is a two step process which will do the same things as the Moist Pack above.  Fiber blanket (#73710) is saturated with Mold Hardener (#73712), to make "moist pack".  Fiber Blanket can also be used as an insulating blanket to wrap hot glass as it comes from the kiln.
  Fiber Blanket is 1/2" thick (ends up 1/4" thick when saturated) and comes in sheets 20x24".  (#73710)
• MOLD HARDENER comes in a 32 oz bottle.  #73712)
