DIDYMIUM EYE PROTECTION FOR TORCH WORK

These Torch Work Glasses utilize Schott Technology's ACE (Amethyst Contrast Enhancer) rare earth (didymium) oxide glass for the lenses. While effectively filtering the harmful wavelengths produced by the sodium flare, the ACE composition enhances the red, green and blue wavelengths. This renders a more realistic appearance of your glass as you work the bead in the flame.

The Phillips 202-ACE lenses filter out harmful UV to 390nm wavelength.
Well suited for working with System 96, Bullseye or Moretti/Effetre glass,

NOT for borosilicate, pyrex or fused quartz.

The Phillips 202-ACE Didymium glasses are quickly becoming the choice of torch workers everywhere. They are comfortable for viewing for longer periods. Made by Phillips Safety, a leader in vision protection.

SKIN PROTECTION AND CLEANERS
Sunshine stocks two product categories designed to remove heavy metals from your skin and to protect your skin from the moisture

D-Lead Heavy Metal Hand Soap

EFFECTIVELY REMOVES:

  • Lead, Copper & Zinc
  • Nickel, Cobalt and Cadmium
  • Aluminum, Mercury and Gallium

NOTE: This is the same product previously marketed to the stained glass trade as "Shepherd's Heavy Metal Soap".

Simply washing with plain soap and water will not eliminate the risk of contamination or ingestion of heavy metals that your skin comes in contact with while working in stained glass.

Remove heavy metal residue and reduce the risk of toxic contamination with D-Lead Hand Soap with Mild Abrasives.

D-Lead has been formulated to QUICKLY remove heavy metal residue from the skin in less than 60 seconds.  Studies show that most industrial soaps require you to wash thoroughly for five minutes to completely remove the heavy metals from your skin. This formula will do the job in 60 seconds or less.

A Personal Note about Gloves in a Bottle from the Webmaster

I have been working in glass for over 34 years now and every winter I would dread the chapped hands and the cuts that would not heal in the dry, cold winter months. Since Sunshine started carrying Gloves In A Bottle (GIAB), I have applied this lotion a few times a day. In past winters there would be times when there was a Band-Aid on five or six fingers to protect the nasty cracks that developed. Last winter I was careful to use GIAB three to five times a day and noted that the tiny nicks that are unavoidable in glass working healed quickly. Only a couple of the nastier ones required a Band-Aid for more than a day. The stuff really works

Added Note: With use of the ever-present alcohol based skin sanitizers, Gloves in a Bottle is needed even more. Apply a drop of Gloves in a Bottle after using skin sanitizers to restore moisture and
