SPRAYWAY GLASS CLEANER
Our favorite spray cleaner. Contains no
ammonia and leaves no film behind. The "film" part is especially
important for fusers as many other cleaners leave a thin silicone
film behind to keep the glass shiny and that's not good for kiln
working. We use this cleaner every day in our shop. Sold in generous 19
oz can. No ozone depleting ingredients.

THE SOLUTION
Our favorite special cleaning formula for
removing flux before applying patina. THE SOLUTION comes as a
concentrated liquid. Dilute up to 32:1, but use at 16:1 for most stained
glass work or at 8:1 for heavy paste flux residues. Pleasant citrus
scent. 4 oz. bottle makes two quarts of 16:1 solution.

STAINED GLASS
FINISHING COMPOUND
Use this as the finishing touch for your
stained glass piece. Especially formulated by Clarity Designs, it is the
result of a long search for the perfect cleaning, waxing and polishing
agent for stained glass work. It polishes your patinated work (gives
copper patina the look of a shiny penny) and leaves a wax finish to
prevent tarnishing. 12 oz. squeeze bottle, lasts a long time. You may
have heard of this product under the name "Kem-O-Pro".

NOVACAN STAIN REMOVER
Every now and then you may come upon a glass
that is sensitive to the ingredients in patinas. The front surface may
haze or even look lightly iridized. If this ever happens to you, this is
the stuff you need to fix it. We have also used this to remove the filmy
effect caused by storing glass for long periods wrapped or separated by
paper with a high acid content. Very effective stuff. Supplied in an 8
oz bottle.

HELPFUL HINTS |
- NEVER use too much flux! Excess
flux trapped in your solder seams will corrode your solder from
the inside out, leaving a white, powdery residue. It doesn't
matter how often you scrape this corrosion, it always returns
because the flux is INSIDE the solder bead.
- The answer is to use your flux
as sparingly as possible. Apply with a Q-tip, if need be!
- An extra harsh (ie. industrial
or sheet metal) flux will give you white powder troubles, no
matter how little you use. Be sure your flux is designed to work
with stained glass.
- When used properly, the fluxes
on this page won't corrode if promptly washed off your work. Use
The Solution, CJ's Flux and
Patina Remover or Kwik Clean for removing and neutralizing
flux residue.
